Welcome

Welcome to my new blog spot. It seems that everybody has a blog anymore, so the first questions I would like to address is, why have a blog? There are a few reasons that I would like to share.

First, this is a place for me to practice to writing skills. As somebody who preaches and enjoys teaching, I find myself needing to practice what I say and refine how I think. This will be a resource where I can do both of these. It will, hopefully, allow me to refine my writing skills over time for the purpose of expressing myself better when I communicate.

Next, this is an opportunity for me to express and vent out my thoughts. Sometimes it helps just write your thoughts out. There are times I struggle with what to say, or which words to use. If I can write that struggle down, it may allow my the opportunity to tune my thoughts and words on a subject. Other times I just want a place to write done what I am thinking, as I might have a thought I want to share or save, this will allow me to do that.

Also, it's a way for me to look back, see where I was to where I am at now. Progress happens slowly, and many times we are blind to our own self. Just like journals, you can go back and see what your thought are. I think there are many advantages to doing this an electronic way. One is you can sort quickly, go by subject or search certain words out to find previous blogs. This is much more efficient than searching page after page of written text. Next, none of my subjects are super personal, although many can become personal, I don't mind sharing. This could be to the benefit of others. Last, processing with other people can be great. Maybe somebody else can share their insights, allowing me to learn from them. As there are some draw backs, these benefits are the reasons why I have decided to post online.

Last, it's a place for anybody who would like to read about any of my interest. I do not feel I am an expert in any one area, but I do feel like I have somethings that I can share that would be helpful for others. This could be a sense of shared interests in computer technologies, about brewing, or how to make an electric brew system or a theological thought that I am expressing.

This brings me to the last point about my blogging site. I am going to be blogging mostly about a few things: Theology - my view on Christianity, Brewing - either about brewing beer in general or components of the brew system or what I like to call "Nerdism". This will be a broad subject from interests in companies like Apple, Microsoft or Google to programming or anything else in between. You should be able to search between these and a general page that will contain content like this post.

For the most part, this is a site that help me, however, I hope you can find this site useful as well. Please come back often to see what is new.

Thanks,

- Eric Savitski
